WITH BEAUTIFUL LIGHT COMES INSPIRATION
The last few weeks have been a struggle with lack of inspiration. I have been out and about, but finding any composition have been really hard if not impossible. I belive it’s the season, I’ve never been any big fan of winter and snow, almost no colours, and even the light seems to have given up.
I’ve always been fascinated about light, it’s my main ingredient when I look for composition, so when the light decide to take a break, I’ve been left behind in a bit of vacuum.
I see and read about other photographers that love this part of the year, and I do see the beauty with snow covered trees, white mountain and even blizzards. Right now I don’t have so much snow covered trees, just barely snow on them. Not as much snow in the mountains either, and blizzard's, nothing near that at all. In most cases we get heavy rain, not snow.
Yesterday I was making our family's Christmas dinner, so I spent almost the whole day in our kitchen. I did manage to get out and about with my camera for about an hour. Against all odds I even manage to frame up a composition, the image below. I walked upon the beautiful scene and the light was just perfect. The snow acted almost like the leaves and covered for the bright light from the sky, only the ambient light got through. That’s the light I really like, to work with it are so rewarding, the mood and the depth this light give the composition are amazing.
It’s still snowing, so maybe I’ll get some nice snow covered trees today, at least I just have to try. The image I capture yesterday showed me it’s still possible to get images, and hopefully this will be the start of a bit more inspirational future.
All my best wishes for some peaceful and quiet days, maybe some productive ones too if you’re going out with your camera.
Stay safe, be careful, and enjoy Your time with your family.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of you!!
