Woodland photography tends to be a “slow down, take your time“ kind of art form, and it usually are, but not always. When the clouds move fast, and the light comes and goes, those beautiful moments with amazing light may last just for a few seconds, then the composition are gone. I usually decide to wait, just to see if I get the light back, but it’s never the same.
I’ve always dreamed of capturing thick morning fog, and amazing moody images, but those few times I’ve experience fog, it’s been so elusive it’s been close to invisible. I do have a few locations that would work, but so far, the fog stays well up in the mountains, almost like it know I’m not able to walk that far.
This morning I did get lucky, and the result shows in this image. That elusive almost invisible mist just shows in those sun rays. It’s moments like this that keep me going out with my camera.
