First Snow

$60.00

For the most of my working life I’ve been working day and night through the winter season trying to get rid of it with all available heavy machinery. As a child I loved playing out in the snow, skiing, or building snowmen, or snowwomen’s, even sleeping in snow caves. That’s dead and gone, I’ve tried for the last ten years to get it back, no luck so far.
Winter is the most difficult time for me to find compositions, I guess it’s the change of light as the surroundings become so bright. Besides, even if I’m 100% Norwegian that doesn’t mean I enjoy the cold, wet, and white season we’re entering now.
Last winter I did try to get out and make some “winter woodland” images, not easy at all. I will carry on that this winter too, hopefully I manage to make a few images like this one this winter too.
I love the light in this one, normally I don’t like the grass poking through snow, it messes up my composition, but in this one I feel it works great together with the light, it help making depth to the image.
